employer credit checks

hi, was wondering if anyone can help, do you know if Morrisons carrys out credit checks on all prospective employees and current employees if they change department. Is this something a lot of companies do now. Thanks

It has been common in Financial Services for years as well as other "sensitive" industries.
It is a lot less common in other areas but it does seem to be growing in popularity, especially if there are concerns about fidelity (eg those handling cash or credit cards or access to bank accounts etc)0
