Possible termination of contract tomorrow, and IPA payment due on 15th...
AdvicePlease

A work colleague phoned me tonight to warn me that the directors at my current company suspect I am job hunting (which I am) and are intending to speak to me tomorrow. I fully appreciate that the company needs to know whether I am going or staying, but I also know that the directors tend to do things on a whim and there is a fairly strong possibility they will dismiss me tomorrow and pay me in lieu of notice (notice period is currently 1 week).
I have an IPA payment (my first one!) due on 15th - will this have to go ahead, or would the OR suspend the payment if I telephone/e-mail them to advise of my change of circumstances?
Either way I will have to work around it, just wondered how quickly things can be implemented really

As soon as you know anything for definite email and ring the OR, they should stop the IPA straight awayHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

When did it become a sackable offence to look for a new job?“Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."0

When did it become a sackable offence to look for a new job?
It isnt....but the directors of my company have an appalling 'hire 'em, fire 'em' approach which is the main reason I am looking for another job!
Under current employment legislation they know I cannot claim unfair dismissal as I have less than 12 months service, so their view is that they can dismiss people as they wish

Thank you for the replies and advice, and I must say a HUGE well done to the Swansea RLTU!
I e-mailed them today with a revised IPA questionnaire for my new role, they have suspended my IPA payment for this month and I will start with a new payment next month - the relief is incredible, and my case officer could not have been more helpful and responsive. What a breath of fresh air after my dealings with my local office

Thats good news, and it is a good example to other people reading the thread that always the best thing to do is to keep in contact and when you have a problem to speak to them as soon as possibleHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
