I and my partner went bankrupt in 2010. Long story, but it was down to ill health and unemployment. We are in our late 40s and have worked for 30 years, paying every bill on time, every mortgage payment, and every loan payment, and right to the end, we had an excellent credit record. Since we went bankrupt, we have actually managed to save £2500, so are coping well financially and have paid every last bill and rent payment on time for the last 2 years and have NO debt.
I had a Christmas Catalogue, (since the mid 90s,) but closed it in 2008, and paid the £150 owing. As we were struggling financially, I wanted to pay it off and close it. Then we went bankrupt in 2010. 2 years later, I really would like a Christmas Studio Cards or Christmas ACE Catalogue again. There's so many things that I used to like in the Christmas catalogue, and I would pay the bill in full. I am only talking about £70 worth of stuff, not much money's worth.
I tried to send for one last October, and was refused, due to the 'credit record.' I was disappointed but did understand...
Well now, it's almost a year later, and I want to try again. Is there any way they would let me order stuff and pay first. before they send it? I don't necessarily want or need to have the stuff on credit (in fact I would rather not...) but is there any way around this? ANY way that I can get a Christmas catalogue account?
And I *know* that these catalogues have huge interest on paying back the money, and don't want to be put off or talked out of ordering it, and it is only high interest, if you don't pay it all off when the statement comes. PLUS, I am prepared to pay for the stuff first, but don't know if they do this. I have looked on the website, but can't find anything on there that would tell me yay or nay.
Can anyone help.

Lou, start with doing the Credit Reference File Clean Up as per the sticky at the top of the board.
Also get yourself a Credit Union savings account ( Google credit union and your town and/or county to find your nearest). They do a really good Christmas savings plan so when you do manage to open an account with Studio then you can pay it off and avoid interest.
But do the clean up before you try to open the catalogue account.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
