Very Cheap 17" TFT Monitor with TV Tuner

Link......

Used loads of bargains of this website but never posted before so here's my first find...unless its already been posted elsewhere.

Its an Advent 17" TFT Monitor with built in TV Tuner

Capable of upto 1280*1024 with an 8ms response.

Seems perfect to play an Xbox 360 on with VGA cables.

Only £79.97

They also have the 19" wide screen version for only £99.97

Have you found a store that you can actually buy it from, though? I haven't.

I believe this one was mentioned on other threads about 19" LCD TVs - I certainly mentioned it in relation to Argos's £150 19" TV, although PC World's price was £130 at that point and still not available anywhere.
  • It's a great price for the 19", but as you say, I can't find any stock within a 50mile radius of Manchester!

    It might be a decent monitor, but other users say it's TV performance leaves a lot to be desired;

    avforums

Also bear in mind that from their descriptions the supplied tuner is analogue and only offers a single RCA composite input for an external device, so picture quality will still be pretty grim with a decent games console or Freeview box. I think some tuners offer RGB or SVideo enabled SCART connection, but this one doesn't.

There seem to be a lot of screens being bundled with analogue tuners at the moment - must be a last desperate clearout before they switch the transmitters off!

    ;)

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
the .97 on the end of the price means it is a discontinued item. I very much doubt there will be stock of this anywhere. OP, did you actually buy one?

It's not that they don't actually stock it but rather they don't any more. 3 months ago you could have bought one. If I remember correctly the 17" was £129 and the 19" was £149. My guess is that there's probably one left somewhere & that's why it's still showing as available.
Ye'!, And!!?. How am I supposed to know?

long story but saw one of these ex display in my exeter store, last price i saw was 130 quid, for the 17 inch one, bargained the guy down to 100 as didnt have leads etc, althought i knew i had all the leads i needed at home! he eventually agreed, when he tried to find the product code came up at 79.97, so he was like ur getting it cheaper, and he still gave me 10 percent off, so got it for 71.97!!

    IDEAL!!

    Hi,
Found one of these in my local PC world yesterday.
It's been bought and then returned, however didnt realise yesterday when i bought it, it should have had a remote control, and a seperate PSU for the TV Tuner.
Still paid the £99.97 for it, so not sure whether i should take it to them and complain and try to get a discount, as i bet they dont have PSU or Remote about for it!

Any ideas on what i should do?

    Thanks.

Sorry for late reply on this one, dunno what u have done, still a cracking deal, but if u cud get some dosh back like 10% its a tenner off, just get a universal power unit for the tv box, should do the trick, pain without the remote, but if u want the menu u need to press the volume up and down buttons together, bit of a pain but works, when in the menu program up and down go up and down throught menu options, volume up seems to be like the enter button, and the volume up and down together go back to the menu screen b4. u u can change the tv resolution up to 1024 and 75 hz where possible, and also sleep function so can be turned off at night rather than getting up to turn it off! hope this helps
