TEP - Traded in endowment policy value

Options
I am now considering cashing in my endowment, as Friends Provident don't even seem to be beating the low of the market with their endowment, so there is no real benefit to not cashing in at the moment.

I am looking at TEP, and getting a quote from APMM at http://www.apmm.org/selling.asp, is there somewhere else I could go to as well?

But, then I have looked into it, and if I sell it on and die, then the person / company who buys it gets the full insured life value - around 42500. This seems to me to be a little dangerous...... So someone who I don't know from Adam will benefit from my death! by the tune of £18,000 or so, the difference between the possible maturity value and the death benefit! At least insurance companies and even the endowment company only benefit currently if I stay alive!

Is this just me being paranoid, or is this a danger with these policies?

There is evidence the Mafia has bought heavily in to the TEP market
Who I am is not important. What I do is.

Would it not be sensible to only buy TEPs from certain groups of individuals / areas where the death rate was actually higher?
When they work out the traded value is this what they actually do, or is it based purely on some other unknown quality?

Anyway, I thought that endowments were a form of organised crime.
