Accord mortgages do exist and have always done so. They have never been a company within their own right and are the sub-prime lender of Yorkshire Building Society.

I would be very surprised if they just called you out of the blue about consolidation.

  • also we were cold called a few months ago by a company saying that we had a mortgage with accord thro mortgage matters and they said that there was a possability it was an illigal mortgage etc but this copmany were very pushy and wouldnt leave us alone they wanted around £400(upfront) to fight our case and got very shirty when we said we wasnt interested, but how did they know about our mortgage? the hubby decided not to go with them because of there attitude ,i would rather aproach a company than to be aproached.

No idea who this company would have been, but do not ever pay anything up front. Mortgage matters may have changed name or sold your details on to a third party.

As per your original request, the PPI issue you can complain about, but please be aware if mortgage matters signed the box, you will have to prove you did not want it.

If you google search accord mortgage you will get there address, I believe it is 1 Filey Street, Bradford.

You cannot have an illegal mortgage. This is a scam. These are typically advance fee frauds
    they wanted around £400(upfront)
And there is your confirmation f advance fee fraud. You pay £400 thinking you have been wronged by the broker and in reality it is the scam company doing the wrong and pocketing £400 in the process.

Did you buy the PPI before 2005 or after 2005?
