Party favour boxes

Hi all,
I'm looking for small favour boxes for a party - c 3"cubes, ideally glitzy metallic and sturdy enough to carry a favour weight of about 100g - but am a bit surprised at the prices. Maybe I've become institutionalised to MSE, but I really don't want to spend more than 10-20p per piece for something that is going to be disposed of quickly. I need about 200 for a party to be held in 2 weeks time, so any economies of scale would be appreciated.
I've had a quick look at this board and also the googled images etc but maybe my expectations are unrealistic? Plse let me know if you're aware of any bargains.
TIA - VfM

Hi There,
The only way you could attempt to get them for 20p per piece would be to make them yourself. You can get metallic card from The Works (currently have a sale but its pretty cheap anyway) or your local poundland/poundworld etc. You can find nets (the footprint of a cube) on the internet, and try and make them yourself.
But realistically, you're not going to get them for 20p per piece from a retailer of any sort, because they cost more than that to make and ship.0 -
Thanks for this. What would be a realistic price per piece for 200 3" cube boxes.DomRavioli wrote: »But realistically, you're not going to get them for 20p per piece from a retailer of any sort, because they cost more than that to make and ship.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

What exactly is the favour? Then we could maybe think of a cheaper way to present it?0

Found these on ebay, its for a pack of fifty but they have more than 10 sets in stock. With the postage savings for buying 4 packs they would work out about 30p each (shown the gold but they had silver too). No idea how strong they would be but to be fair very few (if any) of the boxes will advertise what weight they can hold.

I've asked a confectioner to make up a batch of my Dad's favourite sweets (it's his birthday party) in giant sizes. They can do this but don't have the facility for fancy packaging - their supplier has strictly functional catering supplies in clear plastic etc. The plan is to order some personalised message stickers in gold and trim with ribbon, but having got a good deal on the sweets I don't want to spend more on the packaging than the contents! What exactly is the favour? The finished product will be spheres that are about 2.5" in diameter, but I would be happy to go with a printed foil or other "luxury" packaging ideas if you know of any good deals?
Thank you! :TFound these on ebay, its for a pack of fifty but they have more than 10 sets in stock.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
