For such a narrow desk I think your best option might be a sheet of MDF and some big brackets. I.E. fit it as a wide shelf.

that's pretty small for a desk with drawers...

Ikea normally have some pretty cheap desks, though, so might be worth a look.

I had a desk about that size when I was living in a very small rented room. In that case the desk was a piece of wood fitted into a corner as a floating shelf supported on both edges, with the edge furthest from the wall supported by a small set of draws, I think it was a filing cabinet. I think that would be the best solution in your case.

Putting up a shelf is really not a hard job. If you are rubbish at DIY I would suggest you learn how, it is a useful life skill. Otherwise get a mate to do it. It is a really easy job, you're bound to know someone who can put a shelf up.

What you need to do is find a small set of drawers, ex-office stuff that's being skipped or look in the small ads (Loot, AdTrader, FridayAd). You want one about 700mm tall but if it is smaller you can put some wood between the top and the desk top to raise it a bit. You just need some batons to screw in to the wall on two sides to make a ledge for the desk top to sit on.

If you're lucky you might find a suitable desk in the small ads but since you want such an unusual size and since Argos is outside your budget I think you probably will have to fit one. The upside is, it'll probably actually be a better, more sturdy desk than you would get in Argos and you can design it to fit perfectly in the space in your room.

If you are looking for cheap (i.e. free) then try looking on Freecycle - they often have computer desks listed (which are slim and have shelves) or you could post a "wanted" ad on there (you may need to offer something first - depends on the group(s) you join)

Thank for the advise! I do not really want it fitted in, and did not think that the dimentions that I have quoted was an oddly shape or is it! Its just a simple rectangle aint it!

I was thinking something like this but I would not insert the keyboard panel in it (would that be possible btw) but was looking to spend up to £40! I know i mentioned that I was on a tight budget, as I meant i do not want to spend 70 - 80 on one sorry.

thanks for every1 who has posted!

Does any1 know any websites like this, with brand new furniture?

can't find anything with that budget for you sorry, but try https://www.ikea.co.uk as someone else suggested as they usually have really cheap stuff. I got one in somerfield for my bedroom a couple of years ago, so i'd maybe suggest going to nearby supermarkets and seeing if they've got anything instore, as they usually sell stuff that's not on their websites.
