Princess & Pirate Party Ideas?

Hi all,
It is my daughters 3rd birthday in a couple of weeks and she is having a princess and pirate theme.
The age range of her 'guests' is 1 - 5 years old. We don't want to do actual party games like pass the party etc as we find that the little ones get impatient and upset sometimes if they don't win (which the often don't as they older ones can be quite competitive).
So we have decided to have activities around the house and garden that they can take part in if they want.
Obviously, this is all on a budget so this is what we have so far:
1) Princess Ball Room (Disco room): Black and white streamers (£2), disney music playing (already have), disco ball on (already have), some 5ft princess stickers & castle on wall (approx £5)
2) The pirates treasure hunt: In the garden (weather permitting) an assault course led by the two adult pirates (my husband and one of the other dads, who have agreed to dress up as pirates!!) which takes the kids through Black Beards Cave (floor tube, already got), walk the plank through Crocodile swamp (plank of wood from a joiner friend with paper mache crocodile heads sticking out PLEASE CAN SOMEONE ADVISE HOW TO MAKE THESE!) down a slide (PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP US THINK OF A PIRATE NAME FOR THIS) Then find the treasure on the desert island (burying gold coins in the sand pit (£1)
3) Throughout the day the two daddy pirates are going to be telling stories and waltzing with the princesses whilst the mummy (apparently the wicked witch!!!) will be making sure that everyone is happy and watching the smaller children.
Does anybody have any ideas that we could maybe use of help with the things in red above?
Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks x

You could make princess tiaras and pirate's cutlasses out of thick card - decorate with paint or coloured pens, and add glitter glue if you don't mind the potential mess.
The children could also make their own princess drinks or pirate drinks from a selection of fruit juices and lemonade or water. Add pieces of fruit or a scoop of ice cream on top.
Crocodile heads - not sure if this will work! - papier mache balloons and add long snout made from corrugated cardboard.
The slide could be called Captain Bluebeard's Slithery Slide or something along those lines.0 -
Papier mache alligator. Maybe you can adapt this to just make the head.
