Just a quick question:

I will be recieving a car allowence on top of my salary of £270 per month. What rate of tax will I pay, or how much will i actaully take home out of that each month?

Depends on what else you earn.

You'll need to give us an idea of your salary and tax code.

If you are earning less than approx £38k pa, you'll be a basic rate taxpayer so the tax will be 22% or £59 per month, plus NI.

Try putting your current salary with no allowance in to this calculator and then repeat, but with your salary including the car allowance.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
