Thanks for the cheap shots. I don't think the 1300 quid loan, which I defaulted on (as a matter of principle due to reasons I won't go into). I simply wanted the information to know when the report will be clear.
As it happens, the Bank of International Settlements states the global derivatives market exceeds $1.5 Quadrillion (Quadrillion), which, very soon, will crush Western, and global civilisation, and absolutely end your future and your childrens. And none of you have protested this, so stick your cynicism up your asses.

I always think it's entertaining when people who default on their loans try to tell us about how everyone else has got finance completely wrong.

You defaulted on a £1300 loan mate. Pardon me if I seek my warnings about economic catastrophe somewhere else.

And what the F has that got to do with your childlike money management, and failure to live within your means and pay your debts?

Ive seen a lot of excuses on this board, but this on take the biscuit!!

I'm sure nobody wants to get into debt or default on a credit card or a loan, but these things unfortunately do happen.

Seriously? Most of the posts complaining about PayDay lenders seem to be by people who took out loans with no intention of paying them back.

So I take it by the replies that if you are not savvy and got into trouble in the past that there is no way for him to rebuild his credit history ever again?

Things might drop off your credit rating after 6 years but the lending companies are all like elephants and never forget?

All that happens once statute barred is the company can ask for the money back, if the person says no its statute barred then thats it. They aren't allowed to continue asking/letter writing/phoning. So to all intents are purposes once statute barred although legally the debt is still there, it can't be agressively or legally enforced so is the same as being written off. Most lenders will even lend to the same person down the line so its as good as gone.

We wouldn't be facing a fate worse than death if you had repaid your 1,300 debt you clampet, you've killed us all.

    And yours as well presumably.

So there's not much point in worrying about what's on your credit report is there?

Is that what really happens? That beggars belief. I would have thought (in my little brain) that if you or I had defaulted on a card say from capital one (for example only) that even if it had dropped off after 6 years, that the card company would keep something on their own records that flashed up 'dont touch this person' before it even got to the credit check.

I must admit I hadn't been reading payday loans threads, I was looking at statute barred threads as I didn't understand how it all worked and came across this one.
  • SB happens when you have not acknowledged the debt in writing or made any payments for 6 years. You still owe the money but the creditor can not lodge any court proceedings against you. However the debt is not SB if the creditor lodged a CCJ against you.

THe debt default will fall off your credit file 6 years from default date.
