I wanna hire a Ferrari for the day...

...any ideas for an MSE way of doing so? It's a suprise for my fiance on our wedding day for him to drive to the venue and then to our honeymoon.

Do Ferrari do test drives?!

It's a nice idea, but personally I'd suggest you don't do it. Do you really want the car to steal the show? He should be looking at you and the dress, not the car...

Save it for a birthday treat, when he can get all day to drive it, or better still pick a raceday at one of the racetracks where he can drive one fast, and in safety.

Best thing to get to the honeymoon is the train, then he can have a drink at the reception.

In all honesty I think you may be on a loser here.

I would think any Ferrari dealer would want pretty sound proof of who you are and what your intentions were before they would let you take a car for a days test drive.

Plus any friendly Ferrari owner would be loathe to lend out his prize possession to a stranger for a day, thats even whether you could get insurance to cover you.

Nice idea though and best of luck with your quest, and also have a good wedding day. :)

your looking at about £400- £500 for day, they usually limit the mileage and charge for additional miles. ohh and don't forget the insurance. especially if he is under 30 they really hit you hard for it.

I agree with Lorian don't do it for the wedding day, he won't get the chance to enjoy it, when I hire one I will be sat in it from the time I pick it up and the time I drop it off only getting out to fill the tank with optimax.

the only inexpensive way to drive one is to test drive, with a bloke sat next to you from the seller which sucks or a track day which are great fun. but they are expensive compared to the cheaper cateram or rally days.

you really sure you want to marry the bloke? you can hire a ferrari for me ;)

  • ferrari are about £500 for the day but you can get a porsche 911 (v fast) or a classic (re old and slow) ferrari for much cheaper from £200 -£300 just lots of googling tho. trackdays or red letters are a rip off usually 1 or 2 laps in a ferrari and many sighting laps in a mini or something equally crashable.
blagging dealers for a test drive is easy, just look like you can afford it and lie

The good ones are an excellent day out, with lots of laps in good cars. My favourite is http://www.palmersport.com/ and I've been on more than my fair share. They are not cheap however.
