"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not..." - Dr. Seuss.

Hello, this is my first thread on this site and hopefully will be my saving (;)) grace.

Partner and I have decided we are going to have a baby next year :j so need to kick start the saving and paying off the debts.

I know most people on here are suggesting an SOA for newbies but I don't have time to do one at this exact moment so just quickly...

Here are my debts.

- Loan - £7109.42 (paying off 186.10 a month plus any spare cash)
- Credit card - £64.37 (this will be paid off on payday hopefully)
- Overdraft - £148.45

Not a hideously massive amount of debt but I am desperate to get rid of it all by the time baby gets here which (all being well) will be mid to late 2014.

As well as paying off my debts - We are trying to save some money to put towards things for the baby when we eventually have him/her. Currently I am putting £100 a month into a savings account. I know most people will say i should be using it to pay off my debts but that is not an option as I need to have money saved to buy things for little one.

So this is my first little post - not overly informative but it has helped me a lot to put my debts out there as now I am even more keen to get them gone for good!

Thank you to anyone who read this :D

    Day number two!

Today I am back to work after a good double NSD weekend!

OH is off work but off to his nans for the day so the house will be empty (bar the two kittys) for most of the day saving on the electric :)

Won £10 on the lottery last night so that has been paid in to my creditcard account so that will be going in around Wednesdayish - Not alot but at least it's something.

Over the weekend I have also realised that I am addicted to "popping in" to Tescos... Looking through my bank statements for last week i "popped in" to tescos around 9 TIMES! Only spending a few pounds each time but never on anything I actually need... So this week will be my first week of only two tesco trips... (unless we have an emergency).

Lets see how we get on!

    Day THREE!

    Gooood morning everyone :)

Managed another NSD yesterday apart from £10 for petrol for the car which is a necessity so not counting that. So that makes three NSD in a row!

Feeling very proud of myself despite it nearly causing a spat with the OH as i'm kerbing his random spending.

Anyway, we are both at work today so looks like it should be another NSD - The tesco shopping is being delivered this evening but that has already been taken into account and managed to get a weeks shopping for £11 using all of my clubcard vouchers! Fabulous stuff!

ALL is going well - ALSO paid the ten pounds from the lottery into my overdraft instead of my credit card so i can start getting rid of that aswell, however got to get the cat neutered tomorrow so that is going to dent the money we have left this month or our savings but it is another necessity as i have two cats who are brother and sister - REALLY don't need kittens from them! :rotfl:

    Off to work now anyway!

    Wish me luck!
