Nisa bargain - is it a national chain?

We have a great Asian supermarket locally but for some basics it seems to be part of a chain called Nisa. Today they had Flora (usual or light) for £1 for the 250g tub. BB date is October so I stocked up. HTH.

I think they are mostly located in the Midland and the North West.
You can find your nearest branch here:

They are a buying group for small independent grocers and own/include the Costcutter group.0

Nisa isn't a chain, it's a group of independent retailers. Stores can "go the whole hog" and trade under the Nisa banner, or keep their own identity and just sell Nisa products.
Nisa has nearly 4,000 member stores around the UK, including 5 within a16 mile radius of my little part of Dorset.0 -
I find Nisa expensive. Much prefer Heron Foods.0

I wondered if they had some connection with Costcutter as they always seem to have the same offers! Eg at the moment it's the Flora offer the OP refers to. Unless something is on offer I find them quite expensive."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
I'm sure that Nisa and Costcutter must be connected somehow as they both stock Heritage brand which I've never ever seen anywhere else.0

They are separate companies, but have a joint distribution deal.

Thanks for the information all. Generally I use the store for cheap pulses, fresh fruit and veg etc but just happened to notice the Flora. I also got Frylight (sunflower) quite cheaply too. I can't remember exactly but less than £1.50.0 -
They are worth keeping an eye on for the odd offer.
Last month (although we only saw it on Friday) they had boxes of 20 bottles of Stella for £10.0
