Another Saveonline 9 longtime Eon customer in the process of moving to Scottish Power. Hope I'll be able to log in to the wonderful (*cough*) new website this evening and submit my meter readings.

I hope Eon handle your changes to your satisfaction. although I gave them my final meter readings by e-mail, my new provider has given them the same readings, they are still saying thay they cannot get my gas reading and are sending out an estimated final bill. It was just this, Eon's total inability to handle the administration side that pushed me to move from them. The trouble I had with them trying to get them interested in me as a new customer who had inherited them as my provider and the many telephone calls , hanging on for up to an hour waiting to speak to someone, anyone ! It was beyond a joke. After giving them my notice I had a barrage of letters and flyers from them telling me it was not too late to change my mind. some hope !

They can't send an estimated bill, its not allowed for a switch. The switch reading can be Deemed by the suppliers agent for both suppliers. If they mean this, its a matter to use the industry Disputed Readings process with your new supplier which forces them to agree on your read or decide something else.

If the old supplier provides an estimate that differs to your accepted opening reading with the new supplier, do the above and raise a complaint. Also, the old supplier could overlap and charge you for a supply they are not charged for, hence its non compliant to do this, which is clearly referenced in industry documentation.

I have just had a call from Eon asking if there is anything they can do as I am now moving from Save Online 9 to Scottish Power, a massive saving for me. He said he could not compete with the Scottish Power price, so no point in calling me really.
  • My saveonline ends 31 Aug. When is it safe to start the ball rolling for a swap to a cheaper company?

How long does it take to switch?

    Thanks
  • Mine finishes on 30th August and I've already started my switch to Scottish Power via Moneysupermarket through the link on here. I'm looking forward to my £70 cashback.

I applied on Tuesday, but haven't heard anything yet from Scottish Power. I think they have a 14 day cooling off period, and I'm expecting to be on EON's energyonline tariff for at least a couple of weeks. I think it takes several weeks for a switch to take effect.

I've made a note to give EON my meter readings on 30th August, and ask for a bill. Then the final bill should just be for the time on the energyonline tariff.
  • I'm in the same position of Saveonline 9 ending, but for me first:utility save v3 is coming up as about £30 p.a. cheaper than Scottish power. I know nothing about this company. Does anyone, please?

    Another leaving EON here.

Just signed up for a move to Scottish Power with £55 cashback.

Shame as always had a brilliant service from EON ever since I have joined. Shame they dont have a decent plan to move to.

Signed up to Scottish Power yesterday - they reckon the switch will be 24th September - so just over a month.
