Virgin Media (NTL) are probably the only ISP that offer true unlimited downloads . All the ASDL providers have fair usage policys on their "unlimited" services .0

I'm looking at the Talk Talk one at the moment cos it looks like a good deal. I know some people have had bad experiences but they seem to have smoothed out now.
I dont think so see: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=3454880 -
When providers say unlimited they usually specify its subject to fair use. See Tiscali,s Fair Use Policy here: http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/broadband/fair-usage-policy.html?code=ZZ-NL-11XY0

Hi
I have been with Tiscali for about 3 years - broadband and phone. 2 of us in the house download music regularly (though not tv shows). Teenager never away from internet and we have never had problems with usage from Tiscali. I now get 'unlimited' broadband and anytime calls for £14.99 per month as I phoned them and asked for a MAC code as I was considering going with Sky. They offered me a discount to stay so I did!0 -

Hmmm.......there's a few more negatives there than the last time I looked......still a few positives though (I'm an eternal optimist!!) so might give them a whirl in a few months.......to be honest, all the problems I've had with BT in the past 12 months are worse than the ones listed there, like the time I had my account blocked for 12 days - I called the call centre and was told someone must have done it for a joke!!! Unfortunately I'm not in an ntl cabled area, not that I would give them my money anyway, have a t-mobile not an orange mobile and think sky are a bunch of incompetents!
I think I'll be keeping a close eye on this forum for recommendations!Life in this world is, as it were, a sojourn in a cave. What can we know of reality? For all we can see of the true nature of existence is, shall we say, no more than bewildering and amusing shadows cast upon the inner wall of the cave by the unseen blinding light of absolute truth, from which we may or may not deduce some glimmer of veracity, and we as troglodyte seekers of wisdom can only lift our voices to the unseen and say humbly "Go on, do deformed rabbit again.....it's my favourite". © Terry Pratchett in "Small Gods"

TalkTalk are a shower of... not very nice people!!!! The phone deal is grand but I would NOT recommend the broadband at ALL! We've finally gotten so fed up that we're trying to change, except they've been giving us the grand run around re: mac codes for the last month now. I've never met a company like them. Absolutely unreal, what they get away with.0

I second Primus Broadband.
They were competive when I signed up (£14.99 12 months, 3 months free) 2Meg - REALLY unlimited. (They do 8 meg also)
Freefone support that they acutally answer and based in Scotland
The usual free modem and crap
Zero problems so for, and 5 of my friend now use them also. One had a problem getting connected but this was down to BT not primus.
Also they are totally rubbish at billing you, so you end up with loads of free months. (Happened my friends also)0 -

OFCOM have a newish code of practice thing from last month about mac codes. Try this: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/internet/switching/switch/
Probably quicker to call them on 028 9041 7500.0 -
