So what happened to pipeline? (the petrol card scheme)

Seems like I'm having to stick with Tesco's 5p off a litre (when it's on) and Morrisons 1.5p per pound, and with a cashback/0% purchases credit card then.

ukbill69 - I do think your comments are unfair, especially if you have never been in on the ground of trying to get a national idea like this off the ground and at the same time negotiate with big oil companies who have all the balls in their court.
I still hope something will come of the idea. It deserves to be a success and a big "thank you" to those of you who are trying to get a good deal on behalf of the rest of us.0 -

I got spammed with some rubbish about a 'cheap' sat nav.

Seems they lied.0 -
NickCouchman - it's been nearly 2 years since you joined MSE to plug Pipeline.
Don't you think it's time to hold your hands up and admit it's dead in the water? And can you give an assurance that your considerable list of e-mail addresses will be deleted?0 -

Possibly true, however - it would not hurt Pipeline to send a blanket email to everyone who signed up to re-iterate their aims, and to give some indication on what the status is. It is a long shot, it does deserve to be a success, but you can not derride people for being suspicious when there has been no contact for months now. I for one would love it to succeed. I appreciate that a lot of hard work may have gone in to this - but here is the issue - I don't really know what work has gone into it, as I've not heard anything from them in over a year. I have to assume is not happening, and won't."A simple life freely chosen is a source of strength. Do not be pursuaded into buying what you do not need or cannot afford." I honestly can't understand why everyone got so excited about Pipeline.
I have previously pointed out, but might as well do on this thread to, that you can buy petrol at Sainsbury's for 6% less than their (usually cheap) prices by buying Sainsbury's vouchers from MBNA Rewards (https://www.mbna.co.uk/rewards).
This offer is available to anyone with any MBNA-issued card. Most people on this site must have one or two of those. Obviously don't make the mistake of buying vouchers on a card with a balance transfer on it.
The only drawbacks are that you have to buy at least £100 of vouchers at a time, and you have to buy your petrol in multiples of £10 to get the maximum discount as Sainsbury's won't give change.
But honestly those are minor drawbacks for anyone using any significant quantity of fuel. And if you have too many vouchers for just petrol you can obviously use them instore as well. Indeed, you'd be daft not to if you buy groceries in Sainsbury's anyway.

To give them their due, and cheap sat-navs notwithstanding, the only mails I've had on the address I submitted have been from Pipeline. And can you give an assurance that your considerable list of e-mail addresses will be deleted?Conjugating the verb 'to be":
