Offers on staples thread..

Soworried thanked me for posting mince offers and triggered this idea..

Why don't we have threads for staples like bread, tea, milk, eggs, meat, fish, veg, fruit and poultry that we can all post offers on when we see them and go to when we want to check out prices before we go shopping or order stuff.

Instead of having to navigate umpteen pages or search for PG Tips offers you'd just head to the Staples: Tea thread and would see the latest offers probably in a page.

Then I thought hmm that doesn't help if you are looking for fish fingers so what about brand threads so that if you love Coke or Heinz or Birds Eye for examples you could go there and see what was about

What do you think ? Please post below with your thoughts x

They are good ideas. Would branded and non branded products be in the same thread, maybe listed alphabetically or are you thinking seperate threads?

It sounds like a good idea to me, but we would end up with a lot of threads as different people have different ideas about what is a Staple.

Also, as many Staples rarely have offers so the thread would drop way down the pages and we'd end up searching anyway.

I think a Staples sub-board would be the best solution. Threads could be posted in there and all be available in one place without needing to search.

It might also be a good idea to restrict posts to actual offers and no chat, but have a separate thread for chat only. We don't want threads with two offers in them and 500 post asking if there are any current offers :eek:
