New varifocals

This is my second pr from Boots, first one was from Specsavers. I did use it more as a single vision for distant as I could see read better without them. Now I am finding it difficult to read small print and decided to buy new varifocals, I bought the varilux and was told it is the best lenses. So far distant is ok but cannot get used to reading small print. I find to have a better focus I need to adjust the glasses very high up to be able to read, is that the nor? Uusuall the glasses sit nicely on the bridge of my nose for watching TV and long distance. I also find sometimes when I move my head it affects the focus is it the norm? Most of the time I do not use the glasses, only wear them to watch TV and long distant. I can manage ok using computer without them and reading but strugglinlg a bit now with small print. If I have researched the forum, I would probably gone for 2 prs but I find it convenient not having to swap between glasses. The other option is to get another cheap reading glassses. That's what I believe some people are doing. My friend wears varifocals, but when she drives she uses single long distant vision, she said, it is better. Thanks

I'd go back to optician and ask. they may need adjustment.
However, when I am settling for a long read in bed, I do change to reading specs.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
Sometimes the lenses need to be tilted inwards towards your face at the bottom - that will probably help with the focus through the reading bit.0
