Getting a mortgage in one name when married

My future wife (getting married on 7th September) is currently going through the process of getting a house built.
All the foundations are done and she has gone through the process of getting the mortgage and they are just waiting to do their valuation.
The only thing is I have bad credit hence not going on the mortgage, but we are just slightly worried that if it doesnt all go through by the time we are married we will have to apply for the land to be transferred again into both of our names and also the mortgage which will just take even longer
Thanks in advance

your future or current wife can get a mortgage without yourself; so what exactly is the problem?0

Someone had told me that you can not obtain a mortgage for a home you are going to live in together in only one name once married, miss informed then?0

No the land is going to be in her name solely and that is acting as our deposit. I have stayed out of it completely so we are not linked.0

She may just have to advise the mortgage provider that you are living there due to if she dies what happens with repayment - as they want to be first in line.0

Slight variation, I have a house for mortgage purposes in my name only and the wife on the deeds. She had to get independant legal advice and sign some paperwork that had to be witnessed so that the lender was happy. It didn't delay anything other than going to a local solicitors as a witness.0
