OMG!! What have I done?!?!

I used to be a regular MSEr and managed to get rid of a lot of my debt.
Although I haven't been about here much I have still been over-paying and moving money to get 0% etc.
I still owe money but I have taken my eye of the ball a little with summer hols and now DD off school for the summer.

But now I need to be back here snuggled in MSE land as I have handed my notice in at work with no job to go to.
Many would say this is stupid and I would be one of those people you need a job to pay your debts. But having got to the point where the stress of the job and the illness and unhappiness it was causing had got to the point where you walk in crying and walk out crying something has got to give.

I am lucky that my OH earns good money and we will still be able to cover all the outgoings but I will need to be creative to be able to make overpayments and reduce the debt as quickly as I would like to.
I figure if I am going to be at home I will be able to keep a tighter control over the finances and do meal planning, cooking from scratch, surveys and Bay of E.

So my plan is to start my job search, become the MSE queen that I need to be and if a job doesn't come up as quickly as I would like be able to manage on the money coming in.

I am going to sort out my signature tomorrow and start a plan of action.
I notice it is free listing tomorrow on Bay of E so that will be me sorted for the weekend with my higher value items.

This diary is going to keep me going the MSE way.

  • Good for you for getting back on track. It is sometimes easy to lose sight of your goal when you're caught up in every day things.

I've been in a bad situation before where I cried before, during and after work. It's not a nice place to be. I can see why you handed in your notice. I went off on WRS and the Dr refused to let me set foot in the place again (thankfully!!). Was off for just over 4 months on the sick and then got a new job. If your work is getting you down that much then no you can't stick at it, for health and sanity reasons!

Hopefully it'll be easier for you to keep a check on your finances from home. I know I have the problem of being at work and being in town every day, and spend totally unnecessarily! So easily done.

Ebay is a good way to go – make full use of the free listing weekend!!

Maybe you could post an SOA and we’ll see if there are any other ways you can help clear your debts soon!

    Good luck!! :D

Well I've up dated my signature and have paid off £7298.62 in 2 years.
Not massive amounts but I have gone from 6 debts to 2 debts so that is an improvement and I have most of the remaining debt on 0% now, for most of the last 2 years I have been paying interest at 29-34%.

So plans.......ebaying may not get done this weekend as I haven't had time today and I am out again tomorrow. So I may list some 99p items this week.
Going back to the surveys, so will search my inbox.

Going to start saving Mr M stamps for Christmas, so there are 18 weeks until I will want to do my food shopping so I need to buy at least £3 a week in stamps to have £54 towards the food.....might try and stretch to £4!
