in Cutting tax
Can anyone help, following tips on this site i claimed for tax refund on professional subcriptions and other tax relief. HMRC sent me a tax code. THe form said that i had over paid over the years by £1500 but they do not appear to be sending me a cheque for this amount theyhave just adjusted my tax code to take in this amount. Why do they not give you this back in a lump sum then adjust tax code so there is no more overpayment?

Did you ask them to do this?
You can request either a lump sum refund or leave it to them. In some cases they will adjust the tax code and in others issue a cheque.
What tax code have they given you?0 -
