Can Bad Credit be cleared from file?

Options
My bboyfriend has got £3500 worth of defaulted debt on his file that he did not know about..fool! One of which is a county court judgement. If we pay of this debt is there anyway to get rid of the evidence on his file so that we can get a mortgage and if so how long would it take.

Simple answer is yes you can get all the debts cleared, however it will stay on his credit file for 6 years.

Obviously the longer it is on your credit file, the less impact it will have i.e a CCJ from 5 years ago will be seen as less serious as a CCJ from last month

The problem is is that we are currently living at his parents house which is driving me insane. We have been here for the last 2 years and I can not bare to be here much longer. As you can imagine 6 years is a very long time to be waiting to get a mortgage. Is there any quicker way? Also When do they start counting they start counting those years as it has been on his file since 2002 but is that the judgment or the initial payments?

As stated on your other post, there is no reason why you cannot look to get a mortgage based on your current circumstances.

The only downside is that the rate may be higher to compensate for the adverse credit history.

The fact it was registered 4 years ago will help also

If its that old you might get away with it. I have just got a fresh 12oo ccj past a mainstream high st lender
