Hi,
I am hoping to get a job in Erskine. Can anyone recommend a nice place near to Erskine with good Primary School, not more than 15 miles away from Erskine. Also how is house price there, can we get 4 bed detached within 200K

Thanks
M

    Houston. 7-8 miles from Erskine.

Budget is tight for 4 bedrooms. Here's one at 220k.

Although an artificial new town type of place itself, there are lots of nice properties in Erskine and surrounding places like Houston, Craigends, Bridge of Weir and Kilmacolm. Slight fly in the ointment is the ludicrous expansion of nearby Bishopton underway that while in itself creating new housing and a nice new motorway linkage, is being built on a largely uncharted old munitions site!

Langbank on the side of the Clyde has a good wee school, train, road & bus connections & is a peaceful village yet close to big towns.
Most villages already mentioned are excellent.

Houston is an excellent wee village, although may struggle with your budget, could also consider:

    Kilbarchan
    Bridge of weir
    Howwood
    Lochwinnoch

There is also Beith which is slightly further away, however you would get alot more bang for your buck there in still within 15-20 miles.

Have a look over the bridge to Bowling or Old Kilpatrick, both lovely little villages
