My hubby has made us an appointment to see an advisor at the mortgage advice bureau. I understand they charge a fee, I'm not sure if they are whole of market etc or even if we should see them. I would appreciate any opinions, please??

Ring them up and ask them to send you a copy of their Initial Disclosure Document and this should indentify everything prior to your meeting..

My boyfriend and I have recently been seeing a mortgage broker who doesn't cost a penny and has been fantastic in helping us find the right mortgage for our situation. I would suggest you cancel that appointment and find your nearest broker who won't charge but will do the same job.0

The broker should disclose fees etc in his initial disclosure document but you can also visit brokers websites and find out if they are independent and what if any fees they will chargeI like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)0

The broker could be charging a fee but rebating commission. Until you see the initial disclosure document, you wont know.
First appointments are always free (as you cant charge until you have been told about the charges and accept them).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
