trousers for walking/activity

Hi there,
Trying desperately to try and find a source for some cheap trousers that would be suitable for walking with. Was kind of looking for cargo type things or lightweight material.
I am a guy that normally wears jeans most of the time but looking to get out walking and going on a walking/activity holiday quiet soon so jeans not an option for that.
I can't find anything inexpensive, any ideas?

Forget cargo trousers. Anything you put in the side pockets just flaps about and irritates you. They say (whoever they are!) that fast drying trousers are best as you always have to ford a stream or get caught out in the rain. Cotton/polyester +cotton or nylon cotton are the best.
If you can't get to millets for poly/cotton trousers. Next had a lightweight 5 pocket trouser in cotton for £20 (search for "five pocket trousers"). Ron hill tracksters £10 (link to M and M) are always handy to have as you can dry them quickly or change into them if your other keks are wet. A pair of shorts works too if you're not in the cold and you don't mind a few thorns. I got a pair of Oakley shorts from some online bike shop last year and they're good for summer walking too.
Also try QS/TK Maxx et al on the sale rails. I s'pose a pair of tracky bottoms would do at a pinch.0 -
Thanks for the reply, bloody work computer won't load the MSE site properly so can't click on 'Thanks' button - will do so when home!
I am still on hunt if anyone has alternatives.D'Oh!0 -
I picked up a pair of Crag Hoppers Kiwi trousers in TK Maxx for £20 about a month or two ago. These usually sell for about £35. You could look on the Crag Hoppers website as they have an online store and did have a sale on last time I looked. Crag Hoppers have something like a 2 or 3 year warranty and also have a SPF factor.
Decathlon sometimes reduce the price of their hiking trousers. In the past I have purchased trousers for around £9 from them. Otherwise I think they normally sell for around £15-20. If you are able to get to a Decathlon store, they also sell cheap t-shirts and sports t-shirts (sweat management).
M&M Direct is a great online store. There was a free shipping code on here a while ago.0
