We were thinking of going to London on Sunday to support the marathon runners, not too familiar with London/marathon course, hoping to get some advise on what would be the best time to arrive, good course location so kids can have close look at the top athletes as they run pass us and last but not least would it be best to drive or take train/underground?
Thanks

Madness to drive. Seriously. Most of central London will be blocked to traffic. My brother watched the women's marathon from outside Buckingham Palace (near the end) and got there about an hour early (he'd watched a bit at Embankment earlier on) and got a really good view. However that was a weekday so you should be earlier. You can get an idea of when they'll arrive by checking the course in advance - it will take about 2 hours in total.
