i took out my first mortgage in october 2010. i actually moved into my house 29th october 2010 and my first payment was 1st november. i was on a fixed two year deal which lasted till 31st july 2012. after that i switch onto the variable. in april 2012 i decied i wanted to stay on fixed so i applied to the postoffice (bank of ireland) and my application was approved. on 31st july the funds were released to my solicitors. great. i got a letter today from bank of ireland. they wil collect my first payment on or after 31st august. and also an interest charge for the periooid 31st july - 31st july which is about 8 quid. now, this is where im getting worried. because my old mortage (skipton) took another payment off me on 3rd august. i dont beleive i should of paid that as the funds were released so what i owed to them was finalied. what do you tihnk. ive tried to contatc my solictior but so faer cant get in touch. and i dont dare ask skipton as im sure i wont understand that theyl tell me its all ok

Relax - perfectly normal.
Skipton will have instructed the Direct Debit before they had been 'paid off' by the solicitor.
They will automatically return your payment within 14 days.
If you want to phone them and ask - no problem.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
