part time employment on JSA

Hi i wonder if anyone can help with the above, my daughter is currently on JSA for around a year now, she has been offered some work in a local old peoples home to cover shifts, so could work 6 hrs one week 30 hrs next week then noithing for a few weeks.
I have been told that she keeps signing on and declares what she has worked then they will pay her accordingly.
So if no work has been done she will get her full JSA, if less than 16hrs has been done that week they will take this amount from her allowance and pay her the balance and if more than 16 have been worked she gets no allowance.
So just wondering if this is coirrect as she doesnt want to go for a stretch with no work and no money coming in.
Thanks

Partly correct. If she works 16hrs or more in any one signing week then she has to sign off and do a rapid reclaim when her hours drop again.0

Thanks for the reply, she hopes this will get her in at least then hopefully a more permanent position0

Good for her. Too many would not bother because of the hassle but you stand more of a chance with your foot in the door doing hours as and when required than sat at home moping about.0

If she works fewer than 16 hours a week she keeps signing on but they will deduct her pay -£5 from her JSA that week. So if the wage she earns comes to more than the JSA amount she gets no JSA that week, and say if she earns £50 they will deduct £45 and pay the rest of the JSA amount.
Yes, all the signing off then on again is a complete faff, but getting into a workplace and impressing the right people may well pay off in the form of a permanent contract, or at least more regular shifts, so she should go for it! She's done very well to get her foot in the door and being flexible at short notice, willing to do antisocial hours and generally being willing to muck-in will get her noticed. I hope good things come for her.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0
