A Fresh Start

Hi everybody,
This is my second DFD. My first died a horrible lonely death around a year ago with a total of three posts.
I read back on that post and realise how much of a complete idiot I was. I thought I was ready to deal with my debts and get rid of them but in fact the year ahead wouldn't change anything in a positive way. But today is a new start ...
I already have my plan of action in place but hopefully this diary will help me stick to it. I have just managed to secure a couple of 0% BT cards so now all my CC debt is interest free. Not a big thing but for me this feels like a huge achievement.
Debts
Natwest CC £1714.42
Halifax CC £1297.01
Overdraft £ 800.00
Tesco Loan £4995.00
Braces £1400.00
TOTAL £10206.43:eek:
My first plan of action is to clear the overdraft its costing me aroung £30 per month, then the credit cards after that then make extra payments on braces and loan after that.
Also hoping that I can learn to be a bit more frugal which will put me in good stead for saving for a house deposit and subsequently running a house.
I have set a date for Debt Freedom ... Xmas 2013:T

Oooooooo, good luck CashStrappedPrincess. Welcome back to the diaries :-)
Sometimes, the best thing to do is to start a fresh. As Scarlett O'Hara said "Tomorrow is another day" ....... I say that often to myself :-)
Looking forward to hearing your updates.

Thought I would post again, at least this diary will have more posts this way :-)
It's a huge realisation when the bulb goes off and a bit of a panic, but you can do this!
I just quickly read your other diary and it's sounds just like me :-). I'm a bit of a pampered princess too. Hubby would give me anything I ask for, so I have to reign it in. We have such a lovely life together, that it would be a shame to spoil it all, just because we like to treat ourselves more than we should :-)
Take care, will be reading with interest the new chapter of your life.

Hi CSP,
Had a fab day charity shopping. I am addicted, it's amazing what you can buy. I got a lovely pair of Per Una Jeans (size 14 !) and a Gilet, very on trend, it's been great for me losing weight, it would have cost me a fortune with losing weight otherwise. 3.5 off yesterday so 16 pounds altogether:D
Anyway have a happy sunny day Crystal x0 -
Well I didn't quite manage a NSD yesterday someone came round with a collection at work so I ended up £1 lighter
Got my first night out since my new DFD, it should be a cheap one. Off to the cinema with my best friend. I've got an unlimited card which is honestly a real bargain for me. £14.99 a month and we go at least once a week. Going to raid the goodie cupboard at home for some munchies to take then its back to hers for a pizza done in the oven (the £2 veggie one from Morrisons - Yummy!) and a bottle of wine out of my birthday stock
Hope you all have a good and hopefully NSD0 -
Aww Crystal thats fantastic! Well done
Going to do a bit of charity shop shopping tomorrow I think. My Mum has done it for ages and always asking me to go with her so maybe we could have some Mum & Daughter bonding in the local Charity shops.
Hope the weather stays lovely for you all today, CSP xx0
