So we all agree then, including loanpal, that you can have a refund (minus £5 of you didn't cancel within 14 days), as long as the refund is requested in writing.?
    .

Also loanpal do not allow you to cancel until after 14 days have passed, they say that the only reasonable reason for a refund is if you have not received your loan within that timescale, thus managing to avoid ever having to give you back their made up admin costs.

You CAN have a refund. You will forego £5 of you don't cancel within 14 days.

£5 is the maximum they can charge you, by law so they must refund you.

If you cancel within 14 days you can have a FULL refund, by law.

Seriously, why are you taking the word of these guys who have ripped you off?

Look up the FOS website, click on the "how to complain" tab and fill the forms out.

There is a reason you can't find a loan yourself, because there aren't any. This is why these companies appear, to make a few false promises and say a few kind words.
They know the applicants will find some spare cash, it's easy money

Only way I can see you getting out of the cycle is to on a payment plan if your having problems paying, look at where your spending your money and cut back.

We were spending our money on living. It was the original outlay of replacing all of our things and getting somewhere new to live. We live within our means, but we had a really unfortunate event that means we needed a lot of extra money quickly. We had to get new furniture, beds, clothes, for both myself, my partner and my 7 year old son. We had to move and pay a new bond, new first months rent up front and new admin fees, credit check costs and all sorts, and we had to do it right that second as we had nowhere to live. Due to distance we could not stay with my parents as we would have a 300 mile commute to work, due to hoarding issues we could not stay with my partners parents as there is no physical space, at all, anywhere. We had to find somewhere available immediately, which has meant that we are now not in a very nice area. Our wages pay the bills, but not the bills and the original loan and interest, so each month we are ending up short and having to get another payday loan, it reduces each month, but at this rate we would still have had payday loans for years, at a little less every month, providing interest rates didnt get higher.

The original debt is now sorted. I have managed to find a way to sort that, my issue now is with this company, who have taken just shy of ninety quid, and they outright lied about it. They told me I would be eligible for a refund if my situation was as it is now, I am 110% sure that the way my debt was sorted was in NO WAY related to them, and they took my mney a month before they said they would and are refusing to give a refund on a technicality.

I was not offered a loan that was even close to suitable, all I was offered was payday loans. Which I stated on the original call I would not accept, it was even one of the questions they asked me "If we are unable to find you a suitable loan would you consider a short term loan instead" I responded no.

But due to the fact that I was offered a loan, regardless of whether I took it or whether it was suitable, they are refusing to give a refund because of it. And despite my letter stating that I wished to make a formal complaint, the only reference to that in their response, was "we are sorry that you are unhappy with our service" and then they proceeded to tell me I would not be able to get a refund.

According to their terms and conditions you cannot request a refund within 14 days, although i did twice, once online and once in writing both within the 14 days. They have refused me the refund.
I am in the process of complaining via other sources at the moment. But this company is clearly ripping people off. My refund request to them was declined, although requested both in and out of the 14 day time period. I thought that providing this information, for others who may have dealings and issues with this company, would be a good thing, I did not realise that it would cause me to be patronised and told that I am an irresponsible borrower and that I am following random promises and colourful websites. (despite the fact that they rang me, as they had gotten my details from a loan website who had declined me, I had not seen their website until after the phone call, had I seen that first I would have told them where to shove it, they made out they were entirely over the phone until after it was too late)

Use the FOS, it's what they are there for.

Stop listening to loan pals waffle.

As for jumping into bed with a cold caller..... It makes it difficult to sympathise.
