Avoiding Rock Bottom.....

Hello everyone
I have lurked on the forum for a while, but decided I really must start a diary of my own.
I'm in a pretty bad debt mess - I owe around £41k. This includes council tax arrears (which have gone to court), electric/gas arrears and an HMRC debt from when I was self-employed. I think my wake-up call today was when I realised that I haven't actually hit rock bottom yet!! I have got a lot of debt, that is pretty much all with DCAs, but I don't have any CCJs yet and I haven't had any bailiffs come knocking yet. I really don't want to hit rock bottom.
So I'm hoping this diary will help keep me on the straight and narrow whilst I sort this mess out. My plan is to clear the priority debts first, whilst paying token payments to the others, and then go on a DMP for the rest
Some background info about me, I'm 28 years old. I was self-employed for a couple of years, but now have a regular job (writing this at work right now!). I live with my OH who doesn't know about the extent of my debt and would certainly hit the roof if he knew about the bills arrears (I pay all the bills). I'm hoping I can clear them before he finds out.
We don't have any kids or pets and the flat is rented (rent all up to date fortunately). OH has debts of his own, but we have no joint finances (the bills are all in my name as I lived in the flat first).
So there we go, it's nearly home time, so I will stop there. I'll finish by saying that my avatar is motivation for me, as I would love a good holiday (preferably to Hawaii) when I have finished clearing these debts.
Will sort out my signature with the debts I owe when I get home

Back home and no nasty letters were awaiting me.
Need to get on with some housework after dinner. OH is on nights at the moment, so it's just me. Must do at least 2 loads of washing and change the bed. Really need to hoover too.
Done my signature. It's depressing.

This is a income and expenditure form. If you fill this in it might help you to focus on areas where you can cut back.
Also if you post it up on here, we might notice things you miss.
If your OH doesn't pay for the bills, then what household bills does he pay? It would seem a bit unfair if you are paying all the bills and he pays none....
Good luck on your debt busting journey
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
