Birmingham Midshires do they still lend?

Hi, had a mortgage since 2007 with BM. the paperwork states it can be ported subject to meeting lending criteria etc
I phoned them to ask and they told me they do not deal direct with the public and could not answer my questions and suggested I speak to an IFA.
I phoned the MA who originally got us the mortgage and he said they don't lend anymore so there was no point applying.
Is this true?
TIA

They are lending, but restricted to certain types of clients.
If yours is one of the residential mortgages, then they are unlikely to lend I am afraid...

Ok, thanks.
I thought that as whenever I phone them they are quite unhelpful and never answer a straight question! I had a feeling they didn't want me as a customer.
Always worth an ask as I'm on boe base plus 2.09% since 2009 and had wondered if they'd offer me something good lol0 -
Afraid not, will they let you have consent to let out?
Assuming that they will not rate your product and you can get the deposit for a new place elsewhere aside from equity?
If not, looks like goodbye to the rate or new home..

I'm not cut out for being a landlord I'm afraid! Too much stress...
The house is on the Market so if it sells I'll just have to take what I can get elsewhere.
