GE Money Home Lending

Hi,

Wondered if anyone could point me in the best direction for me to find out the GE Money Home Lending Base rate history by month back to early 2007? Is there such a published list?

According to my records I had the following:
Increase Aug 07 by 0.25%
Decrease Dec 07 by 0.5%
Increase Oct 08 by 1.95%
Decrease Jan 09 by 0.75%

Has anyone else had the same changes?

As I am about to settle my secured loan due to moving property I have been looking again at my original agreement and fluctuations in the base rate to make sure my loan balance is around the correct figure.

I know it isnt based on the Bank of England Base rate but would still like to cross reference to the movements I have had on my account - I have had one decrease and a couple of increases but nothing since early 2009, I've also read conflicting articles stating the bank can lend cheaper and so shouldnt this be passed on through movement in the base rate for GE.

I also don't think the rate on my agreement has been used correctly - it seems to be out by 1% since I have had it but I have requested them to investigate this and have asked for their base rates just would feel better to have something to cross reference to.

Any help would be hugely appreciated

hi, see this all the time and they are a nightmare to deal with!

I know its been 4% since Jan 2012, but will investigate previous to this for you.

If your loan was taken out prior to 6th August 2010, then you should be following Barclays Bank Base Rate (which pretty much tracks Bank of England rate) so has been 0.5% for 3 years, therefore shouldnt have changed.

do you know when you took the loan out?

Hi & thanks for your reply
I took it out May 2007 - it definitely says on the agreement that the interest rate will increase and decrease if and to the extent there is any change in the GE Money base lending rate....
