Bit harsh ,
The reason I borrowed the money is I had a gambling problem . However I accepted my problem and sought help and have been clean now for 8yrs .
During this time I have paid off 40% of my debt and up to now have honoured my debt and accepted the consequences , however it is difficult for me to cope at the moment and I am on pills and due to see a connsellor .
My point is a loan is granted base on an ability to pay it back . If my repayments were greater than my take home salary you don't need to be Einstein to work out I am not viable or were the banks just interested in preying on the vulnerable and lining there own pockets .
Banks have a responsibility and a duty of care to it's customers !0 -

You don't get it do you ?
Now you're free from your addiction, it's time to repay what you borrowed. It's no good blaming anyone but yourself. You say you have accepted the consequences but you obviously haven't or you wouldn't be posting on here saying it wasn't my fault.
If you've managed your repayments for the last 8 years, whats happened now to change how you feel ? Why are you not coping ? I would recommend speaking to CCCS, and post a statement of affairs on the DFW board for some help.
What happened is in the past, you're not going to get anywhere trying to pass the blame on to the banks, it's time to move forward, not keep looking back.0 -

Bit harsh Not in the slightest, maybe you didnt expect the replies but nothing we can do about that.
Yes the banks have a responsibility but you the customer also has to be responsible.
Im glad your getting help with the addiction.0 -
After the recent thread with the bloke and the Tesco telly, I'm feeling like this is a trolling thread too.
If your repayment was higher than your take home pay, no bank would have granted it, which means you lied or it isn't true.
No one can possibly think that borrowing £100k and only paying back 40% of it is the 'morally right' thing for the bank to accept. Even the most deluded of us.
It's a wind up. If it's not, then the OP won't listen to a damn word anyone says and will end up either in court, made bankrupt or on a revised DMP. You've given him the options. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

You already said that.
You're a troll or some sort of bot, I reckon.
