All the indicies are slowly going into negative, I think we are on the verge of a second substantial fall now.
Halifax is down -0.6% for July for those that are interested by the way.
Yes the trend is what you need to watch. And the annual rate of change since May has been -0.1%, -0.5% and -0.6%, which suggests that following the FTB rush to be the stamp duty holiday deadline, downwards pressure on prices is increasing (or negative sideways growths as I'm sure the bulls will call it).0 -
I predict down 0.6% for the month and the year.

Not so sure there will be a substantial fall, but I wouldn't rule it out. I think we are more likely to see a continuation of reductions some months, rises in other months, but with the overall direction being downwards for the next year or so. I expected a short/sharp "crash", but instead we have a longer term "correction", and I think it will continue.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -
There have been some worrying drops in asking prices near me. Earlier in the year things were selling like hot cakes and for high prices.
Nowadays I should wonder that the people who completed in the spring must be worried they have overpaid.
I live in a nice aspirational area too. Not some housepricecrashers ghetto.
What if they start trying to move in using their stored millions?
