In my cupboard I have an unopened cereal box of Tesco Value Bran Flakes, the best before date is 24/08/11, almost a year. Would these be ok to eat?

They won't harm you, but the flavour and texture may have deteriorated. I would give them a try!0

Eat them, they certainly won't do you any harm BBE dates mean nothing. If the pack is sealed, they should taste OK. If they are a bit tasteless just put some dried or fresh fruit in your bowl with them.0

They may have become soft. Don't throw them out, put them out for the birds!0
