Banking Change

How do you convert your sealed pot change into cash?
Do you bank it into your bank accounts?
Has anyone had any problems doing this?
Years ago I used to pay my leccy/phone bill with accumulated change (long beore I heard of MSE sealed pots LOL)
Is it still possible to get coin bags from my BS/Bank without them being weird?
Don't want to use the supermarket coin converters cos they take so much as a 'fee'
Any thoughts?

Think you posted this on the wrong forum.
Yes you can still get coin bags and deposit change that way, just check with your branch as some have a limit on how many bags you can deposit per day.
Quite a few HSBC/Natwest branches (not sure if any others) have coin paying in machines, they are like the coinstar machines where you just pour the loose change in, but no fee and they deposit straight into your bank account, you need to be a customer with them. If you bank with them do a search and there is a list somewhere of which branches have them installed.
One thing I do is use loose change at supermarket self checkout machines, once went late at night so it wasn't busy and spent ages putting my coppers in. It was a tight month.Total Debt 21st October 2012: £11737.03, Total Paid: £0Consists of real debt: £5737.03 and preventing future debt fund: £6000.

Cheers for the advice
What would be the correct forum?
Thought this must be an issue for all those who do the sealed pot challenge which is on this section isn't it?
