haven't seen any in my local but will be checking all the locals on Thursday as I need tablecloths, union jacks, and paper/plastic plates for my dads bbq on Saturday and thanks to snap ant helping me out with union jack bunting mother has decided to theme it along those lines.

Will let you know if I find any in the next few days

Not very happy with Tesco - went through manned till with around £15 or so of stuff including pork steaks and 4 of the small Lenor.

I knew that the Lenor £1 (car booklet) coupons probably wouldn't scan but last time I got some CS desk refunded me the cash value (after some minor discussions over whether ANY on the coupon actually meant ANY !). However, neither would the till accept m £7 odd price porkie coupon.

Supervisor was called and then we had an extended difference of opinion on exactly what the word ANY meant before she stored my transaction and carted me and my stuff off to CS.

Again we had the ANY discussion - which they agreed was misleading and put through the coupons as non scan. The price porky was more of a major problem though as they said WE DON'T TAKE THESE ANYMORE - WE'VE HAD A MEMO FROM HEAD OFFICE!!!! This obviously provoked a fairly robust response from me and I asked them to find the b***** memo and to phone HQ while I was there. I won't go into all the conversation - they did finally take the PP as a non scan but they weren't happy. And neither am I. I was very tempted to say 'well, so Tesco have finally accepted that they are nearly always dearer than Asda have they?'

I haven't had a senior moment and missed yet another change in T&Cs have I - it still looks the same online?

BA launched a new Olympics themed advert yesterday which is quite clever BUT the REALLY clever bit is you can put in any UK postcode or address (or try both) and "thanks to CGI and Google Maps", the advert will include the B777 taxiing up your road!

    See:

Sorry in colour came from an email.

I was trying it too - same shelving, same result! :rotfl:

If anyone's doing a T vs S shop, there's now half price 400ml Herbal Essences Ignite My Colour at Mr S (£1.69); not a bad deal with a coupon and PP.

Further to my earlier carry on in Tesco re PP vouchers - the Duty Manager has just phoned me back (He's had a flea in his ear from HQ!)

Very apologetic, staff clearly don't understand the system and he will ensure retraining tomorrow. Shouldn't have happened etc etc and no change recently ie PP's are still in use. Local store is having IT problems with coupons not scanning which should be fixed. There will NOT be any problem with PP's next time I go in.

I also asked him about the £1 Lenor coupons and staff refuing them against the smaller 500 ml bottles. He agreed that 'against ANY Lenor product' does mean exactly what it says and that staff must take these coupons against the £1 bottles. I told him I had a few coupons left and told him that if I get any hassle with them I will quote his name (which he had given me already). He agreed that they probably weren't MEANT to be used on small botttles but Tesco should have thought of that before they printed them. Quite a helpful guy really.
