good morning everyone my first post my daughter told me to look in on you as being a pensioner money is tight. and any info on saving would be great a couple of little points I have already been informed about the bavaria beer deal i.e sainsburys web site photos of beer stockpiles the thing i am interested in is the price promise article by tbw 5875 what does this mean beside tescof finest loin steaks (0.192kg) 10.022.749.11n/a1

Sorry - I'm not clued up on how to post results of my 'shops' and stuff does tend to rune together making it hard to read!

The Finest loin steaks (2 packs) cost me £10.02 in Tesco and they compared to a price of £2.74 in Asda and £9.11 in another supermarket. Not sure what product they compare against in Asda - certainly a much cheaper/lower quality item so , as Tesco give you a price promise voucher for the difference of £7.28, you get a high quality item at a cheap Asda price.

You do have to buy at least 7 other items as Tesco require 8 comparable items before they give a price promise coupon.

Some people manage to hand their moc's to driver and get them credited to their account. Is it worth trying, and if they don't take them, ring CS and they should send money card ;)

P.S. photocopy the moc's before giving them to driver and get him to sign copy to prove he took the coupons

Totally agree! I did this recently. The driver took the coupon and scanned it with his scanner thingy and I heard nothing after that. After a week I phoned CS who told me the driver is supposed to give the voucher to the home shopping manager in the store and then it get credited back to the card you used for your shopping. I don't know where things went wrong but have been wary of redeeming my coupons this way since. I had the money refunded by CS which took about 5 days

Thanks for posting. I am a little tempted to go and get some. Not sure if it's because I really want the wine or the buzz from the glitch. thshy_2_03.gif

    Morning all

A quick question for you all

Do you think there is a line between people who do what we do to save money, and those who just want stuff for free?

I ask because I was chatting to someone the other day and she was all "oooh, free stuff, where??" but isnt prepared to make the effort and wants it handed to her on a plate

Whereas my friend who knows what I do and has benefitted from it quite nicely, is quite happy to do as much running around as she can as long as I give her the heads up on what she needs to do

    Just where is the line?
    purdita wrote: »
Definitely a line. I don't begrudge anyone anything they get if they are prepared to get off their backsides and get it for themselves.
What I can't stand are the whiners and whingers who begrudge your bargains, yet are quite happy to take them off you for free
I don't necessarily "need" the glitches and whoopsies as such, but I'm prepared to go out and get them rather than do my shopping in M&S then moan about how much I'm spending and plead poverty.
(A certain friend of mine ;))
By being savvy where money is concerned, we've managed to pay the mortgage off early, owe absolutely nothing and have something put aside for a rainy day.
That gives me far more pleasure and peace of mind than designer clothes, flashy cars etc.
Why spend more than you need to?

this is me! I don't need them, I'm just a a tight azz and love saving money!! it's more of a [STRIKE]obsession[/STRIKE] hobby for me

I not materilaistic at all and have enough of every thing I need apart from a bigger house!;) apart from the usual outgoings of mortgage, gas, leccy and insurances etc all I spend my money on is groceries and petrol!:)

what winds me up are those that clear shelves because they can and have no use/need for them and then a couple of months down the line, find it cluttering the house up and have to bootsale/ebay them or worse still bin them....why not leave them on the shelves for someone that does need them.....but thats just me I guess...each to his own!!:rotfl::D

for those that still have the Wilkinson Sword Hydro5 £2 mocs

T's have an offer of 4 blades for £8 but get the separate razor free!!:T

I think the typo of the weight was what generated the error, the ones I bought 3 minutes later compared fine, long live the pork :p
