    Delayed

    Flight Delay
    If your flight is delayed then you may be entitled to a financial compensation.

    When the arrival delay at your final destination is longer than three hours you could be entitled to financial compensation of up to € 600 per passenger.

    Compensation for a flight delay
    The level of compensation that you are entitled to receive is set by the distance of the flight in combination with the amount of delay experienced due to the delay. If you fall within the scope of the Regulation, you are entitled to:
    • € 250 for all flights of 1,500 kilometers or less;
    • € 400 for all intra-Community flights of more than 1,500 kilometers, and for all other flights between 1,500 and 3,500 kilometers;
    • € 600 for all other flights not falling in one of the above categories.

    they will do everything they can to lay the blame on "extraordinary circumstances"

    i was 5 days late coming home from Greece last year because of the strikes. The only flight we could get home together was to gatwick (we had flown from bristol). The gatwick flight was delayed on the runway too :mad:

    I tried everything under the sun to argue that an exceptional circumstance would have to count as an "act of God", and a strike was most definitely not one of them!

    Getting my money back from the agents we booked with was a completely different matter entirely. They had used their own card to pay for the flights, thus avoiding card surcharges. Easyjet had refunded my money to the card that was used to pay with. We assumed that it was our card, not thinking for a moment that it would be any different. It took a couple of months of almost daily emails and phone calls and i was still getting nowhere

    In the end, I sent them an email saying that if i did not get a response within X amount of time, I would be informing the police. I had a phone call within 30 minutes from them.

    This is more of a warning really, if you have not booked the flights directly, just be wary of getting a refund

    Evening all, hope everybody is well and happy. :)
    Only a quick post as quite busy and have visitors as well.

    Just had a quick look on the coupon thread and found loads of money off coupons for Weight Watchers products. Thought maybe the Elite could also find them useful. (no cheeky offence meant to anyone :D)

    Well, we had a houseful over the weekend but both son number one and eldest child went off on the Manchester train at lunchtime.

    Eldest child got home in 2 hours.

    Son number one was supposed to catch his flight at 15.40 but he is still there, could now be 5 hours late :mad: Its still showing as "scheduled 15.40"

    Does anyone know how long is it when a flight is late that they get compensation of some sort? Is it someone on the website?
    Assume at some stage they get food and drink vouchers????
    Its a T Cook flight

    His flight is 5 hours and someone was supposed to collect him when he got home so that now will be someone else and in the middle of the night. And he said he was so glad to be going home, got really fed up of the constant rain and wanted 40 C back :D

    Usually after 3+hours delay you get fed and watered, depends really how good the airline is.

    Also as to money compo, depends whether it is in the EU or not.

    I always book direct now, as I have seen what travel agents get up to from the banking end !!
    I was caught in the ash cloud and needed to get home as mother had died and the funeral was from our house as she lived with us.
    Easyjet paid all expenses for us to drive back and refunded the tickets too, I had never used them before and had only booked a one way ticket with them.
    Last month I was delayed over three hours due to a plane landing with two known faults but nobody doing anything until after two hours.
    I missed my connecting flight and had to pay 300 euros for a flight that would have cost 15 quid if booked in advance.
    There are several companies that will put in the claim for a fee and a guy in Leeds is doing mine for 12 euros each.
    They will pay me direct as they have my card on record.

    Love this picture of the cats' luncheon ... my two can't be in the same room together, let alone near each others food. Great they all get along.
