Job Seekers and Bank Statement Requests

Hi,
I have been claiming job seekers allowance since 9th June this year. Claim is going fine and provided bank statements up to this date when I applied.
Today I recieved a letter asking for statements from the 9th June to the present day.
Does anyone have any idea why they might be requesting this?
I have nothing to hide but just dont see why they need this.
I have savings of around £3,000 which I have declared and have been working part time up until last Friday when I was made redundant. Not sure if this has any bearing on it.
Any ideas appreciated.

They could be checking if you have received a redundancy payment, or that your declared part time earnings tally with those going into your account?0

As you say you have nothing to hide so just comply, could be due to the redundancy payout as tallulah says.0

I gave the JC a copy of my letter of redundancy when I claimed and only had to say if I had savings when I claimed 6 mths in for income based jsa0
