Hope you are both well and that things are moving for you in a positive way - I still haven't heard from the housing association re the MRS scheme since she rang me 2 and a half weeks ago when she took a list of all my finances mortgage details and the dreaded debt ( hang my head in shame) but I am frightened of ringing her in case it is bad news - Not sure whether to apply for another job at weekends to help a little wont make much difference but I cant stand this waiting and worrying anymore - so worried - Just need some news

Sorry to hear of your situation - what a shame that the mortgage rescue scheme is not available in N Ireland I really feel for you and your family nothing worse than the worry of losing your home - something will work out for you I am sure and I wish you luck with everything - Take Care

After much deliberation and advice etc (debt advice lady has been fab) we are doing voluntary repossession, we are not prepared to sign for shortfall debt which we cannot take into bankruptcy. We are REALLY struggling to find a landlord who will accept housing benefit...even though we are honest decent people who have fell on hard times and hubby is trying his best to find a job after being made redundant, unfortunately we are being tarred with the "DSS" brush.
We have another appointment with the housing lady tomorrow to sign up for the rent deposit scheme run by the council to help with renting costs etc, we have also signed up to the council list for housing. We are struggling because I need to stay in local area as I am a carer for my grandfather and two disabled uncles. Their social worker is writing to the housing lady to explain the situation...its a long shot but worth a try.
We have had a letter from NRAM saying they have applied for a court order so things are moving now..bit quick!! I have a load of boxes and we are going to start packing stuff up. Hubby broke down for the first time today....cant see an end to it all

Hi Dawny
Good luck with your meeting tomorrow - I am still waiting to hear from the Housng association re the MRS but think I will end up down the repossession route - I totally agree with you that everyone should be given a chance to rent especially for people like us who have fallen on hard times and that whether we claim housing benefit should have nothing to do with how good a tennant we would be - I think there should be a law to say that anyone should be able to rent on benefits or not - Its not fair that we are discriminated against - I wish you all the best tomorrow and good luck in finding somewhere nice to rent - let me know how you get on xxx0 -
Hi Win, we have signed up to the rent bond scheme today and viewed a property...all seemed too good to be true..agent will accept bond, housing benefit etc...but...the house is a hovel!!!!! Back to the drawing board! Sick to death of estate agents saying 'no sorry - private applicants only' Arrrggghhhh its so hard to find anywhere!!!!!0

Hi everyone
I am still in a bad way - I have an appointment with Shelter thursday to discuss the Mortgage rescue scheme - my fear is that if we do get accepted onto the scheme due to my mum being disabled what will happen if god forbid anything happens to my mum will my son and I still be able to live in the house as tennants or will they throw us out and make us homeless again - such a scary place to be I don't know how much more I can take - I feel sick all the time with worry and I don't know which way to turn - so scared.
Hope you guys are ok0 -
Win
I have just read your pm and will reply asap. I would be dubious about the info you just received via PM. Don't take it at face value until you get proper advice from Shelter. xx0 -
Hi angipange
Thanks for that info will go to shelter and go from there x x will let you know how I get on and thanks for your support its really kind of you.
Dear Dawny
Don't give up not all places will be a hovel - Estate agent are a pain so not fair when we are trying our best to get somewhere decent to rent or live - we all deserve a chance just seems that when we are in trouble not many landlords are willing to accept people on benefits or HB etc which isn't fair - They should give everyone a try - You will find somewhere nice for you and your family somewhere fingers crossed for you, you deserve to have somewhere nice to live xx

Win I really hope you get the advice you need from Shelter, if its anything to go by the advice we have received up to now has been great. We would have deffo gone down the MRS route had it not been for signing for a big shortfall which will no doubt have a bankruptcy clause in it.
I know how you feel about feeling sick etc...your whole day and night is consumed with worry and what if's...and just when you get a glimmer of hope its always a NO.
We have spent the weekend packing up bits and pieces and it breaks my heart. And to top it all off our car broke down on Friday when we were picking my grandad up from Christies Hosptial..we had to be towed home and its not parked up and out of action....WHAT NEXT!!!! I said some !!!!!! must hate us!!!!0
