I want to send Jaffa Cakes to Australia

Slightly strange request, I know, but my younger brother emigrated to Australia last year and I want to send him some of his favourite biscuits, the very-yummy jaffa cakes. He can't find them in Australia and, as he's just broken his wrist in a bizarre go-carting accident, he really needs cheering up.
I know Australia have very strict rules on taking food into the country - does anyone know whether Jaffa Cakes would be allowable? (Or would they simply do a controlled explosion on the box, or worse - allow the customs officers to scoff the lot!)
Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks Frogmella, but they want to charge me £25 to send one packet of Jaffa Cakes! Guess I'll have to give up on the idea0

..Hi Frogling, I think you should be OK provided the Jaffa Cakes do not contain more than 10% dairy product or egg. May be best to check with the manufacturers as Robnye suggests and hopefully they can help on this point.
Ensure you write full details of exactly what the package contains on the customs declaration that you will have to send with the parcel and, if it does contain less than 10% dairy product or egg, then state this also.
Also I suggest you refer to the following links:

P.S. I love Jaffa Cakes too and hope you can get them to your brother as I'm sure they will cheer him up.There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0 -
A friend takes a fruit cake over to Florida every year for Thanksgiving and to be able to do this she always contacts Customs first to get clearance. Perhaps you could try that or try contacting Australian House for their help and advice?0
