because one has chemicals to remove limescale and one has chemicals to remove grease!

LOL you're buying the hype. Do you really believe that the manufacturers make the cleaners with specific chemicals?
Plus buying 1 is no cheaper anyway as you use it twice as quick cos you are cleaning 2 rooms with it not 1!

Think about it ..... 1 cleaner does 2 rooms. So 2 cleaners = 1 room each.
if i buy a general purpose cleaner i still get 2 as i find it hand to have 1 to hand in the bathroom and kitchen.

So you have two cleaners, to do two rooms. Same result :D

Yes, but that's just because I've just looked at the labels. I expect 90% of what is in the containers is the same, but they do also contain different stuff for different cleaning needs, i.e. grease, limescale, soap scum etc.

Yes, but you seem to be assuming that you use a whole bottle each time you clean a room. One cleaner will do two rooms, but it will do them many times, just as two cleaners will do two different rooms, but do them twice as many times as having only one bottle.

There is no difference in financial terms between having one bottle for two rooms, or a bottle for each room. But it makes things easier if you have two bottles. If you'd ever tried cleaning your cooker and kitchen tiles with a bathroom cleaner you would know this.

Exactly, the same result, just easier.

  • I use bleach, washing up liquid and a cream cleaner like Cif for nearly everything. Clean loos and kitchen sinks with bleach, bathroom sinks with cream cleaner, floors with washing up liquid and bleach in the bucket, worktops just with hot soapy water. invest in a decent e-cloth and it will clean almost every surface just with water. Get some supermarket brand bathroom wipes for looseats. Food, yes its down to what you normally eat...basics you need salt, pepper, cooking oil, butter or spread, then work on from there - rice, pasta, tinned beans and tomatoes, frozen peas, cheese, canned tuna, eggs , bread - you have the basics for some meals at least. Hope you are very happy in your new home.
