Unknown debt-Arrow Global/Fredrickson/Cyclone Asset management

Wasn't quite sure where to post, if it's in the wrong lace please move.
Hope someone can help!
I met my partner five and a half years ago. I was very ill at the time and struggling with my illness and also being a single mum to two children. I had debts. When it looked like we would have a future and decided to buy a house together my partner paid off my debts and we never looked back.
Beginning of February this year I received a letter from Arrow Global saying they were attempting to contact the above named (me) and that I should contact Fredrickson Ltd, Surrey.
I ignored the letter thinking it was a mistake.
I then received a letter beginning of may from Cyclone Management - a notice of assignment. It stated the original debt was owed to Shop Direct Group and that Cyclone had assigned all its rights to Arrow Global, giving me an address in Hull c/o Wescot Credit services for future payments.........sooo many different names!!
I began to worry a little.
Then I found a message on my answering machine two days ago from a solicitors firm - mortimer clarke West sussex.
So now I'm more worried. I cannot for the life of me think of any debt that wasn't paid, but then if I cannot remember it, it may not have been paid?! Unfortunately, my health problems have and still do affect memory, concentration etc.
I don't want to say anything to my partner, he is having problems of his own at the moment, and would like to solve this myself.
I have read conflicting advice, ignore/send letter to ask for details.
I have gone as far as to look at the three credit report companies advised by this forum and there is nothing to see on any of them. Would something show up?
Blimey, just realised how long the post is, sorry, the stress is making my health worse and frightened I will have a relapse.

Ignore the message on your answering machine and don't discuss this on the phone. The rule here is 'everything in writing'

The next time one of the myriad forms of pond life actually write with an amount and reference and your correct name, you can respond with a prove-it letter.

The chances of this being your debt, not statute barred and with a valid signed consumer credit agreement that they can show you ... as near zero as anything on this board.

No harm in discussing this with your partner and nothing to be worried about.

Thank you for the reply fatbelly (how rude do I feel calling you that!!).
I have only just noticed that it was addressed to my former address (which is now rented out to family, they post on any letters that slipped through the net when we moved) but they did get my name right. And the phone call was to our landline. They have put 'account numbers' but different for each company.
I just get the horrible feeling that it may be a debt that was overlooked, but then surely I would have been contacted sooner.
