Currently been unemployed for 2 years and doing a Psychology Degree with OU.
The degree on its own will not get me a job so want to do a CPCAB L2 Counselling course.
Can't find any grants or bursaries, can anyone help?
Many thanks

Have you considered the Low intensity CBT practitioner courses? as a career route

As you say a psychology degree alone won't get you a job in that field.
Career development loan
Fund finder website(many counselling institutes will have log in details where you can enter details like where you live, went to school etc for specific grants).
There are many counsellors out there, it's not necessarily a route to ahigh enough number of clients hours to generate a good income. You will need to train for a few years, often fund your own regular supervision, and personal therapy throughout training
Low intensity IAPT worker might be a good route, look on university websites, there's certainly info for example on Exeter university re admissions criteria and other entry requirements.
The NHS recruitment site will also allow you to search for support worker type roles, mental health bank workers etc which might allow you to gain some experience in the field you hope to work
Also consider volunteering with mental health charities, local sure start centres, projects run by other community organisations/charities etc to gain experience0 -
Wouldn't you be be better studying Counselling with the OU?

Its funderfinder PIN you need to use and this finished about a year ago.
However some Voluntary Action places still have access to the old database- but its out of date.
Give your local one a ring and say its the PIN not the GIN that you need to use and can anyone help you with this.0 -
Try https://www.mfip.org.uk - it's the Merseyside funding portal.0
