    I did not think their back book was being totally transferred, although not sure so will stand corrected.

    I do not necessarily agree on the interest debate, as this could be done in alternative ways. Nothing to do with people changing their fixed rates more frequently then, as the interest used to be calculated in a different way when people did not move lenders as often...

    I do not want my view and the disagreeing views of others on interest calculation, justification etc. to detract from the OP's needs and questions...

    its a massive difference so wondering if halifax have it wrong?

    Sorry, that is what I was saying; there is not usually that much of a difference (agree it is too much)

    Typically if Halifax would lend £200k, based upon experience I would suggest that Nationwide would lend around £160k. Apply that to your own numbers...

    Halifax will definitely get you what you need, from your stated requirements and Nationwide will be very, very close..

    Long day - you may not achieve Nationwide (50/50) but you will get better than Halifax rate wise....
