Unexpected charge from 'Experian'

I'm wondering whether anyone else has had a problem with an unexpected charge from Experian/CreditExpert?
I applied online for an online credit report from Experian last week. I opted for Experian as the application appeared to be straight-forward ... they also appeared to be offering a free credit report (did I miss some 'small print'?)
The deal was that applicants provided their credit card details, but if they cancelled their 'membership' within the first month there would be no charge.
I cancelled my 'membership' the day after I down-loaded my credit report. However, Experian have taken £2 for the credit report and a further 0.86p for "processing" my credit card! This is a bit naughty, surely?
Naturally I'm going to attempt to get the £2.86 refunded.

I think the 86p is a result of our ID checking procedures and is refunded straight back onto your card. If you accessed CreditExpert then I don't understand the £2 charge, which is the fee for a statutory Experian credit report. If you call or email our contact centre I'm sure they'll get to the bottom of it for you.

Colud people please be aware that according to their website, CreditExpert's Customer Services opens at 0800. call it before then and you will hear the message that they don't open until 0900. Not too inconvenient but ruddy annoying to think that they can't even get this right.0

I would like to cancel as well. Can i cancel in an email or does it have to be phone?
Also, can i not get a plain and simple report without the CreditExpert?SuRfInGuS0 -

To close your CreditExpert membership you simply need to call our freephone cancellation number, 0800 561 0083 Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm or Saturday 9am to 1pm.
There is a link on the Experian website (front page) to order a one-off statutory £2 credit report.
