Sorting finances out (again)

Hello, everyone.

Starting a new thread for myself as I've gone overdrawn today. This was never going to happen again. :(

So basically - have £6 to last me until next Tuesday. This would not normally pose a problem but we have just come back from camping so have no fresh fruit or veg (apart from courgettes!)

And it is my younger son's birthday on Saturday. Present and card bought a week or so ago but need to have enough food for a family party.

Then there is the task of building my bank account up again.

Incoming money each Tuesday is tax credits and child benefit. I also get carers allowance for looking after my younger son and the day seems to vary each week for that.

The reason I have gone overdrawn is from wiping out my savings by having the front window frames replaced (they've always leaked but the 3 months of rain we have had has meant water pouring across the window sills onto the floor). This last month I've also had the camping trip, the car MOT and the car tax.

I've switched from BGas to Scottish Power and I over paid BGas so am waiting for about £200 from them - they're not in any hurry! No more windfalls on the way, sadly.

Porridge and cereal for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and going to make a family favourite for tea - chopped up sausages (from a jar) with baked beans, topped with sliced potatoes and cheese.

Not going anywhere today as we have already played tennis for an hour this morning with my brother (secretary of the tennis club so free to play!) Both sons enjoyed that.

Oh, and this will also be the ideal time to cut down on my over-eating which has been getting a bit silly.

Spending today - 4 pints of milk and half a dozen eggs.

Funny you should mention that, Hannah!

Been baking this morning, made 24 fairy cakes, a courgette quiche and a few jam tarts using left over pastry.

Son wants sausages, beans and chips for his birthday tea. So there is also the courgette quiche and some cous cous if grown ups don't want the other food.

So he is 9 today. His friend from school is here until 4 then my mum, dad, brother, sister and my best friend from school are coming over for tea. My OH is coming over at some point I think (not heard anything :() and his sons.

The OH is also an issue I need to think about... I'm not sure it is going terribly well but I don't really have anything to compare it with. Our 1st anniversary was on Wednesday.

Had tuna sandwiches for lunch just now with some sliced apples and the jam tarts (still warm). Son and his friend have been on the Wii mostly and helped me decorate the fairy cakes.
